Privacy and Data Protection in the TeleHealth Project
Your privacy is our priority. In the TeleHealth Project, we ensure that all participant data is handled with the highest level of security and confidentiality. Below, we explain how we protect your information and why your participation is completely voluntary.
How We Protect Your Personal Data
We understand that sharing personal data can be a sensitive topic. That’s why we follow strict privacy regulations and ethical guidelines to ensure your information is always secure.
✅ No direct access to personal data – Researchers will never have access to your name, contact details, or any personally identifiable information.
✅ Trusted third-party processing – The data linkage process is managed by Mensura and Cohezio, independent organizations specialized in secure data handling.
✅ Anonymized research data – All data used for research purposes is fully anonymized, meaning it cannot be traced back to individual participants.
✅ Ethical approval and legal compliance – The study follows all GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) guidelines and has been reviewed by ethics committees to ensure the highest data protection standards.
What Happens to Your Data?
1️⃣ Survey Data Collection – Participants provide responses through an online questionnaire.
2️⃣ Data Linkage (Optional) – If you agree, Mensura and Cohezio will securely link your survey responses with health-related administrative data.
3️⃣ Anonymization – Personal identifiers (e.g., name, address) are removed before data is shared with researchers.
4️⃣ Research Analysis – Only fully anonymized data is used for scientific study.
Your Participation is Completely Voluntary
- The survey is open to all participants, whether or not they agree to data linkage.
- You can choose whether or not to allow your health data to be linked. This part of the study is not mandatory and does not affect your ability to participate.
- You can withdraw your consent at any time without any consequences.
Why is Data Linkage Important?
By linking survey responses with real-world health data, we can gain more accurate insights into how telework affects health. This helps us:
📊 Understand long-term health trends related to remote work.
⚕️ Identify potential risks and benefits of teleworking on physical and mental health.
📢 Provide evidence-based recommendations for employees, employers, and policymakers.
